Ex-EPA Chiefs Blame Bush in Global Warming
Of course, this headline hardly comes as a surprise, even when 5 of the 6 former EPA directors are Republicans. Maybe that's a testament to how bad Bush really is in this regard.
You don't have to be a biologist to know what happens when you have too many fish pooping in the fishbowl. Moreover, you don't need a crystal ball to envision a world 200 years from now inhabited by 100 billion people living knee deep in their own trash.
Of course, caring about the future of the planet doesn't pay for very many election ad spots. It's hard to get voters to care about a future they will never see, and about changes that may occur over several lifetimes. Politics are usually about issues "in the now" (and planetary health is somwhat of a new issue anyway).
Environmentalists are often reffered to as "tree-hugging moonbats" by the right side of the political spectrum. What's interesting is these "moonbats" have alot in common with their conservative bretheren, the conservationists. Both want to preserve what God or nature gave us, even if for different reasons.
What could be a bigger issue than the future of humanity on this planet? Gay marriage? Terri Schaivo? Think about it in terms of the people who will write the history books. History texts of the future will come to the obvious conclusion that greed won over planet earth under Bush's watch.
